The official opening of the Centrum Diagnostyki Kobiet i Noworodkow took place on 14th July in Walbrzych in Specjalistyczny Szpital Ginekologiczno – Polozniczy
im. E. Biernackiego – the leader of 9 hospitals taking part in the project “Maly Dolnoslazak”. In the newly created building are to find among others: modernly equipped clinics, new birthing school room, diagnostic consulting rooms, rooms with bathrooms for the maternity ward patients, hotel for mothers and the driveway for ambulances which makes a great convenience for the patients. The building of the Centrum Diagnostyki Kobiet i Noworodkow in Walbrzych cost over 6 million zlotys and was implemented as part of the project “Maly Dolnoslazak – The programme of improvement of the perinatal care on the territory of Lower Silesian Voivodeship” financed by the EOG Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014. The official opening hosted among others Bartosz Masternak – the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway, Cezary Przybylski – the Marshall of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Prof. Marek Ziętek – the Rector of the University of Wroclaw and Roman Szełemej – the President of Walbrzych.
The main objective of the project is the improvement of the hospital conditions concerning the newborns’ care, especially those premature, with the continuation of the care in the hospital clinics as well as the professional help for the women during each phase of their pregnancy and childbirth – says Eng. Alicja Daleczko, the head of the Specjalistyczny Szpital Ginekologiczno – Polozniczy. – Additionally after its finishing one of the most important activities of the Centre will be to support women to maintain the natural breast feeding and to restore good condition after the childbirth. The personnel of the Centrum Diagnostyki Kobiet i Noworodkow as well as the hospital personnel will effectively support mothers and newborns in caring about their life and health thanks to the trainings and a new equipment.
